Vision of Our Parish
The Mystery of the Church is "communion". It defines both the nature of the church as well as its mission. The discourse on communion, however, requires to be contextualised and situated. Communion can become a concrete and pastorally meaningful conception of the Church only in relation to the Church as a people - as a community with different charisms and ministries

Priorities for 2003-04: To build communities of Love in and with the family, youth and the marginalized.

In appreciation of…

We thank Srs. Joshila, Rani, Jacinta and Br. Benhur for their valuable service to our parish community. A warm welcome to Srs. Sandhya, Vibha, Snehal and Brs. Joseph Gonsalves and Stephen Maria to St.Anthony's Parish.

Rise and Shine

The slogan of the 'Summer Club' this year was 'Rise and shine' (R & S) which was attended by around 80 children the purpose of which, was to contribute to faith formation, personality development as well as enhancing the talents and skills of every child.

The highlights of the summer club were: Bible study, Group work, Computer classes, First-aid, Embroidery, Cooking, Drawing, Mehendi, Dance classes, Action songs English class, Fellowship meal, Games, Movies and Slide shows. The cold-drinks and snacks competition (including fancy dress, singing, dance, drawing and mehendi competitions) and the picnic added to the enhancement of this program.

The children were able to enjoy and benefit from 'R & S' due to the dedicated and selfless service of some young animators who took the initiative to organise and implement the program. We thank the children, parents, animators, sponsors and the priests of our parish for their whole hearted support.

WOMEN'S CELL PROGRAM

A program for the Women's Cell of St.Anthony's Church, Dharavi was organised by the Parish Priest, Fr.Allwyn D'Silva on 15th August, Independence Day, as it was also the Feast of Assumption. Fr.Allwyn D'Silva had invited Sr.Anitha, a Social Worker from Nirmala Niketan, College of Social Work to speak to conduct the program on the theme 'Women'.

The program started after the Tamil Mass at 11 a.m. with a small introduction given by Maria Jolly. Sr. Anitha introduced herself and asked the following questions to the women gathered. 1) Do we treat boys and girls equally at home? 2) Do women have equal rights over men?

The women gathered discussed among themselves and gave certain answers to the above mentioned questions. In the meantime snacks and cold drinks were distributed to the women as well as to Sr.Anita. Apart from this 2 songs about women and their role in the world were sung by the group of Tamil women. The program was really interesting.
