    FAQ
    What's a CLUSTER?

A cluster is a group of parishes in the same geographical area that have come together to develop a pastoral plan for that locality and to put that plan into action.

    CLUSTER PASTORAL PLANNING

Through the process of developing the Cluster Pastoral Plan, parishes are challenged to reflect and pray, and to be open to ideas and ways they could work together to renew the lived expression of the Church in that area (Guided by Faith, a cluster planning workbook for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia).

Every parish by the mission given it by Jesus Christ is:

  • to be holy, "God our Father, you call all your children to be holy..." Prayer for Renewal

  • to be a light for all people, "I will make you a light to the nations..." Is. 49

  • to give as gift what has been received as gift, "Go make disciples of all nations..." Matthew 28:18

  • This all adds up to the fact that every parish has the obligation to make God's presence as alive as possible in the communities in which they are located.

The objective of the cluster pastoral planning process is to identify ways that parishes can support one another and all of their parishioners in the task to be holy, to be light, and to give as gift.

As the cluster pastoral plan is put into action there should be better COORDINATION, COOPERATION and COMMUNICATION among the parishes of that cluster and indeed among all their parishioners.
